Lakes Entrance: The footbridge has Trevally and Squid taking pilchard and squid jigs. Town jetties have Mullet biting on worm. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for “Pinkies”, Morwong and Leather Jacket. Try surf for Salmon.
Lake Tyers: From Nowa Nowa all the way down to the islands for good Bream taking peeled prawn. Also try the surf beach for Salmon taking pilchard and popper.
Mitchell River: From backwaters to grassy banks for Bream and Mullet taking worm, spider crab and prawn. The river mouth has Estuary Perch taking metal lures.
Tambo River: Late afternoon is the best time at the first gate heading towards the three gums for Bream. Best bait is peeled prawn. Also give Whelans a try.
Nicholson: The Strait Six, the cliffs and car bodies for Bream biting on peeled prawn. The reeds is worth a look as well.
Metung: Chinaman’s Creek and Boxes Creek for Bream, Mullet and Perch. Nungurner jetty and around the islands for Whiting biting on pippi and worm.
Paynesville: Tailor and Mullet are still cruising the strait. Best bait being worm and pippi. At the river mouth of the Mitchell for Estuary Perch taking metal lures.
Hollands Landing: Tom’s Creek, Hollands Landing, wood pile and McLennan Strait for Bream. Night fishing is producing larger Bream as well as Flathead. Best baits being prawn, pilchard and white bait.
Marlo: The river is best for Perch and Bream biting on prawn and worm. Try around the island, Marlo jetty and towards Motts Beach. Surf for Salmon and Tailor taking pilchard and popper.
Bemm River: The river and lake are producing Bream and Luderick taking worm. Golden Eye Mullet and Tailor are chasing metal lures and worm.
Tamboon Inlet: Peters Rock is best spot for Trevally taking pilchard as preferred bait. There are still some Bream about but you will have to work for them.
Mallacoota: Surf for Salmon on pilchard and popper. Top Lake for Bream and Flathead taking soft plastics and hard body lures. The two rivers, Wallagaraugh and Genoa for Bream, Luderick and Perch. Best results using prawn, worm and lures.
Omeo High Country: CLOSED SEASON.
