Lakes Entrance: Mullet and Trevally are about all the town jetties taking blue bait and worm. Eastern Beach is producing good 3kg Salmon on blue bait and metal lures. Try Barrier Landing for Whiting. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for “Pinkies” and Flathead. “Gummies” are closer to shore taking pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers: The top end of the Nowa Nowa Arm and Devils Hole for Bream taking plastics and prawn. Also give No. 2 Boat Ramp a try. Flathead are throughout the lake system taking plastics and prawn. Surf for Salmon on pilchard and poppers.
Mitchell River: Best spots for Bream are at “grassy bank”, Eagle Point, “the cut” and river mouth. Flathead are also at the mouth of the river with spider crab, prawn and plastics giving the best results.
Tambo River: Bream are about from Sardine Flats, Punt-house Point and all the way to the “snags”. Best bait being frozen local prawn.
Nicholson: From the boat ramp and down to the river mouth for Bream taking frozen prawn, also Garfish taking worm under a float, is providing the best results.
Metung: Nungurner area is producing Flathead taking frozen local prawn. Whiting may be found around weed beds and “the flat”. Best bait is sand worm and pippi.
Paynesville: Fishing is a bit quiet but the Duck and Picnic Arm are producing Flathead and Bream on local prawn and plastics.
Hollands Landing: Try the “wood pile”, Jones Bay, Tom’s Creek and Blonde Bay for Bream, Mullet and Flathead. Best baits being spider crab, white bait, prawn and worm.
Marlo: The Brodribb River and Marlo for Bream. Best bait being frozen prawn. Surf for Salmon taking pilchard and poppers. Offshore for Kingfish, Flathead, “Gummies” and Bronze Whalers taking pilchard and squid.
Bemm River: The lake is still producing Bream. Flathead are also cruising about taking prawn, lures and plastics. Surf for Salmon on pilchard and poppers.
Tamboon Inlet: Furnell Landing and up to Cann River for Flathead, Bream, Luderick and Perch biting on lures and plastics. The channel is also worth a look for Flathead and Bream in shallow bank areas.
Mallacoota: Beach for 3kg Salmon and pilchard and popper, also give tip beach a try. Flathead in the Bottom Lake taking lures. Top Lake for Bream on yabbies and prawn. Fisheries jetty for Trevally, snapper and Tailor taking blue bait.
Omeo High Country: All rivers still needing rain to freshen them up. Give all rivers a go trying plastics, flies and hoppers.
