Lakes Entrance: The surf beaches have gummy shark. The floating jetty at Myer Street for tailor and trevally taking pilchard. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for a mixed bag.
Lake Tyers: Bream are about from Devils Hole to the island and Mill Point, best results on prawn. Try the surf for salmon and gummy shark.
Mitchell River: From the highway bridge and towards Shadoof Lodge for bream and some mullet. Best bait being worm, spider crab and prawn. Also try The Cut.
Tambo River: From the highway bridge and down towards Sandy’s Bluff for bream with worm as preferred bait.
Nicholson: From The Reeds, Car Bodies and the Strait Six are the best spots for bream on worm and lures.
Metung: The best spot for flathead is the back of Flanagan Island in shallow water. Best results using shrimp and prawn.
Paynesville: In the Strait using very light gear with prawn and worm as bait will get the best results. The dolphins have also returned.
Hollands Landing: Bream are about from The Woodpile to Hollands Landing on worm.
Marlo: Cape Conran have flathead and gummies. Surf beaches for salmon. Mullet are cruising at Marlo on worm. The Brodribb and the Snowy Rivers have bream and luderick taking prawn and worm.
Bemm River: Bream are in the river taking worm. The surf beaches for salmon.
Tamboon Inlet: Bream are cruising up the river on worm and prawn. Some trevally are about on pilchard. The surf for salmon.
Mallacoota: Surf beaches have salmon on pilchard, poppers and metal lures. Best spot for bream is Gipsy point on prawn and yabbies.
Omeo High Country: The Mitta Mitta is the best for trout. Anglers Rest is also worth a look. Try using earth worm.
