Lakes Entrance: Trevally are about the floating jetty at Myer Street biting on blue bait and pilchard. The Post Office jetty for Mullet taking worm. Six Mile Reef have “Pinkies” and Morwong with “Gummies closer to the beach taking pilchard and squid. Surf beaches for Salmon.
Lake Tyers: Best spot for Flathead is Devil’s Hole and up towards Nowa Nowa using soft plastics. Burnt Bridge and Cherry Tree for 28-32cm Bream. Best results using worm.
Mitchell River: The current hot spot is George’s Lane for Bream. “The cut” and up to Shadoof Lodge is also working well for Bream. Best bait being worm, prawn and soft plastics.
Tambo River: The highway bridge, Whelan’s and up to the poplars are the best spots for Bream biting on worm and prawn. Flathead at the highway bridge on prawn.
Nicholson: The car bodies, the cliff and the Strait Six are worth a look for Bream and Mullet taking prawn, shrimp and worm.
Metung: For the boaties, from Eastern Entrance to the Grange is the hot spot for Bream with shrimp as preferred bait.
Paynesville: The town jetties and the Strait are good spots for Bream and Mullet with worm, prawn and shrimp giving the best results.
Hollands Landing: Surf for Salmon. “Gummies” at night biting on pilchard and squid. Tom’s Creek is producing Bream as well as the wood pile, Hollands Landing and Seacombe Landing. Best bait being prawn, worm and cut crab.
Marlo: Brodribb River have trout taking worm. Lake Curlip is producing Luderick, Bream and Estuary Perch on worm. Surf for Salmon and offshore for mixed bag.
Bemm River: Bream are in the river and lake taking worm, prawn, plastics and surface lures. Surf for Salmon taking pilchard, popper and metal lures.
Tamboon Inlet: Bream are in the river mouth and heading further up. Best results using sand worm. Peter’s Rock for Trevally on pilchard. Surf beach for Salmon on pilchard and popper.
Mallacoota: At high tide for Salmon on all surf beaches. Top Lake for Bream and Flathead taking blue bait. Genoa River heading up stream for Tailor and the “odd” Bream. Best bait being prawn, yabbies and lures.
Omeo High Country: Best spots for Trout are the Gibbo and Morass Rivers taking earth worm. Try floating the worm.
