Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: All town jetties are still producing plenty of trevally and tailor on white bait. Bunga beach is best for salmon with blue bait as preferred bait. Off shore is still quite rough with strong winds.

Lake Tyers: The surf beach is good for salmon with blue bait and lures getting the best results. From Devils Hole and down to the island are the best spots for bream. Good luderick are taking weed and prawn around the Mill Point area.

Mitchell River: Grassy banks, the bluff and the two bells are good spots for bream on cut crab and prawn. The highway bridge and the back water for mullet taking worm.

Tambo River: Rough Road to Punt Point and half way down towards the river mouth are best for bream with prawn and worm as the preferred bait.

Nicholson: Small bream are at the two bridges. From the little cliffs and down towards the mouth of the river for bream taking worm.

Metung: Chinaman’s Creek, the Box Creek area and the boardwalk are good spots for bream. Try the town jetties for mullet. Best bait being worm, prawn and shrimp.

Paynesville: Newland’s Arm is producing bream taking shrimp and spider crab. The straits also have bream, mullet and trevally taking white bait and worm.

Hollands Landing: Mc Lennan Strait and Blonde Bay and towards Storm Point for bream and luderick. Best bait being white bait, prawn and worm.

Marlo: Off shore some flathead and gummy shark were caught on squid and pilchards. The river system has luderick, mullet and bream with sand worm as preferred bait.

Tamboon Inlet: From the river mouth and well past Furnell Landing for bream on worm and shrimp. Salmon are in the lake on white bait.

Bemm River: The entrance is still closed but will open up next week. Bream are in the lake and channel on worm and peeled prawn.

Mallacoota: The surf for salmon on poppers and lures. Bream are in Harrison’s Channel. The Fisheries Wharf for trevally, salmon and tailor towards evening on lures. The Genoa and Wallagarugh rivers for bream on yabbies

Omeo High Country: Please check fisheries website for new rule for bag limits. Mitta Mitta is the hot spot for trout on soft plastics.
