Lakes Entrance: The Winery for garfish taking worm. Bullock Island on the incoming tide for salmon and tailor. Bait of choice lures, white and blue bait. The town jetties for mullet. Offshore swordfish out wide. The six mile reef for pinkies. Gummies and flathead closer to the beach on pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers: Garfish are at Nowa Nowa. Bream are about from Cameron’s Arm to Nowa Nowa. Long Point and Blackfellow’s Arm are also worth a look. Tailor are in deeper water smashing lures. The surf for salmon on pilchard and poppers.
Mitchell River: Garfish are about the backwaters, the butter factory and Picnic Point. Bream are at the river mouth and back to the cut taking spider crab and prawn.
Tambo River: Bennet’s Brook for flathead, best results using prawn. The boat house has bream on prawn and worm.
Nicholson: Bream are about the little cliffs and down to Thumb Point taking spider crab and prawn.
Metung: The town wharfs for flathead. Nungurner Jetty has whiting and flathead, best results using pippies and worm.
Paynesville: Town jetties have bream chasing shrimp. The eastern side of Raymond Island for king george whiting on mussels. Surf beach for salmon on pilchards and poppers.
Hollands Landing: The straight and the wood pile are worth a look for bream and flathead. Best bait white bait, prawn and pilchards.
Marlo: The odd bream and mullet are in the river system. Best results on frozen prawn and worm. Offshore for a mixed bag. The surf beach for salmon and tailor taking lures, pilchards and poppers.
Bemm River: The entrance is still closed. The lake has bream taking pilchards and prawn. The ocean beach for salmon with pilchards and poppers for best results.
Tamboon Inlet: The river mouth for bream taking worm and prawn. Tailor are cruising the lakes slamming lures. Surf for salmon on pilchards and poppers.
Mallacoota: The top and bottom lake for bream and flathead with lures and prawn for best results. Fisheries jetty for flathead chasing lures, early morning for best results. Surf for salmon and tailor on pilchards, poppers and lures.
Omeo High Country: Fishing is a bit quiet but trout are taking hoppers and worm, it will require some work to get them. Still no rain to freshen up the rivers.
