Autumn is slowly transforming into Winter - what's instore...
With the onset of Autumn and Winter just around the corner, it's a great time to go beachcombing.
When we have intense low pressure systems off the east coast of Australia, they tend to push heavy waves and swells towards our beaches.
This in turn, washes up a sundry of items of interest to beachcombers. Everything from cuttlefish of varying sizes, to old fishing nets and even some persistent oranges that keep washing up.
A dead seal was sighted on the Lake Tyers Beach section the other day, with tonnes of other flotsam washed up on the shoreline.
The heavy seas break up the seaweed and coral laying just offshore on the Red Bluff Reef, giving beachcombers plenty to collect on their walks.
