Sea Safari is based on the concept of a land safari, but instead of observing land wildlife, Sea Safari instead focuses on marine based animal and plant life.
Travelling in a custom built vessel, you will search, investigate and record sea-birds and marine life around Lakes Entrance. A take-home worksheet is handed out as you navigate the waterways using GPS and Chart-plotter technology as well as measuring salinity levels and visiting remote lake-side beaches.
Two Safaris are available:
Rigby Island - A 3 hour Safari, commences from Post Office Jetty in Lakes Entrance, navigating around Rigby Island, taking in Rigby Beach and Barrier Landing. You get a great view of the Entrance to the Gippsland Lakes and depending on the weather, a couple of guided walks.

Harbour & Ocean Entrance - Departs Post Office Jetty to cruise past the commercial Port of Lakes Entrance and Bulolock Island, to view the ocean entrance and North Arm Lake.

Every year Lakes Entrance hosts two Fireworks on NYE on the Foreshore. Family fireworks at 9:30pm and a midnight show.
