Lakes Entrance: The surf for salmon chasing lures and pilchards. Whiting are still around Nungurner and the Barrier on pippies. Trevally and mullet are still around the town jetties on pilchard. Off shore for gummies and pinkies.
Lake Tyers: Fishing is good throughout the whole lake system with bream, flathead and trevally on the loose chasing soft plastics, prawn and trolling with hard bodied lures. Try the surf for salmon.
Mitchell River: River mouth, backwater and the Highway Bridge for bream and perch on prawn and soft plastics. The top end of the Mitchell River National Park for bass. Picnic Point for 3lb trout with diving lures for best result.
Tambo River: Try the Cliffs for flathead and bream. The river mouth is also producing flathead on prawn and lures.
Nicholson: The river mouth for bream with soft plastics and cut spider crab. Tailor are also out and about the mouth taking lures and soft plastics.
Metung: Town jetties and the boardwalk have bream with prawn as preferred bait. King George whiting are around Fraser Island on worm and pippies for best results.
Paynesville: Town jetties for bream on live shrimp. Tailor are around Point Fullarton chasing lures. Around the back of Raymond Island for whiting taking moving baits, yabbies, prawn and worm.
Hollands Landing: Best spots for bream are from Lake Wellington into Mc LennanStrait and Lake Victoria. Best bait being prawn.
Marlo: All rivers in the system are fishing well with a mixed bag being taken. Best bait being worm and prawn. The beach for salmon and gummies towards evening on squid. Off shore for gummies and flathead. Flathead are cruising the shallows around Marlo toward the mouth on soft plastics.
Bemm River: The entrance is closed. Bait prawns are in the system. Bream are chasing surface lures and soft plastics. Trevally, tailor and flathead are in the channel smacking soft plastics.
Tamboon Inlet: Flathead are cruising all shallow waters on prawn and soft plastics. Try Furnell Landing as well. Pear Tree and the Cann River for bream on prawn and plastics.
Mallacoota: Off shore and top and bottom lakes for flathead on yabbies and soft plastics. The two rivers in the top lake and to Cape Horn for bream on yabbies and prawn. The Main Wharf for luderick. Fisheries Wharf for trevally and tailor. The beach for salmon.
Omeo High Country: Warm temperatures and low water is making fishing slow. Try dry flies and spinners. The fish are there but not to active.
