Lakes Entrance: Luderick, Mullet, Trevally and Tailor are to be found around the town jetties, taking worm, weed and pilchard. Nungurner is still good for Whiting in Reeve Channel and behind Flannigan’s Island. Offshore, at six and eight mile reefs for “Pinkies” on squid and pilchard.
Lake Tyers: Devil’s Hole and up towards Nowa Nowa is best for Bream biting on sand worm. Cameron’s Arm, Burnt Bridge to Blackfellows Arm are also worth a look.
Mitchell River: With rain water coming down stream, the best spot for Bream is down at the “cut” and onto the silt jetties. Best results using prawn and sand worm. Carp are to be found in the back waters.
Tambo River: In the early morning and late afternoon for Bream on worm and prawn. Whelans and up to the cliffs are the best spots.
Nicholson: From the two bridges and heading toward the Strait Six for Bream, best results using sand worm and mussels.
Metung: At the mouth of the Tambo around the “snags” for Bream on black lures and prawn. Late afternoon, Whiting can be found at Nungurner jetty area taking worm.
Paynesville: Early morning in the Strait is still producing Bream and Mullet. Best bait is shrimp and worm.
Hollands Landing: The “woodpile”, Hollands Landing, Bull Bay and Blonde Bay are best spots for Bream biting on prawn, pippi and worm for best results.
Marlo: System is still producing Bream, Luderick and Mullet. Best baits being worm and yabbies. Surf for Salmon on pilchard and popper. Tailor are chasing lures. Offshore for “Pinkies” and “Gummies”.
Tamboon Inlet: The Entrance is open. Bream around 32 - 34cm mark are at the river mouth taking cut crab and worm. Tailor are smashing lures around the entrance areas.
Bemm River: Bream in the lake taking worm and prawn. Surf for Salmon on pilchards and poppers. Bream can also be found by fishing from platforms around the river system.
Mallacoota: Bream are cruising all over the lake and also up the Genoa and Wallagaraugh Rivers with bass yabbies and prawn for best results. Some Luderick are about. Surf for Salmon on pilchard and poppers.
Omeo High Country: CLOSED FOR SEASON.
