Lakes Entrance: Surf beaches have Salmon taking pilchards and poppers. Town jetties for Mullet. The rock wall is also a good spot for Luderick. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for “Pinkies” and Morwong taking pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers: Big Bream are to be found at Devil’s Hole taking prawn. Flathead are also about, best results on lures. Surf for Salmon.
Mitchell River: Bream and some Mullet are in the backwaters and 3 kilometres down past the highway bridge. Best results using worm, prawn and spider crab.
Tambo River: Best spot for Bream is on the Metung Road on the southern bank known as Whelan’s. Best results being prawn, worn ad spider crab.
Nicholson: From the Strait Six to the bridges and towards the river mouth for Bream. Best results using drifting prawn, spider crab and worm. Some Mullet are about taking worm.
Metung: Metung wharf and the rock wall are best for Bream and Trevally and the “odd” Flathead. Best bait being prawn, pippi and worm.
Paynesville: The Strait is best spot for Mullet with worm as preferred bait.
Hollands Landing: Best spot for Bream, Mullet and maybe the “odd” Luderick is Seacombe Landing, the wood pile, Hollands Landing, Tom’s Creek and Blonde Bay, biting on prawn, worm and whitebait.
Marlo: Good size Bream are around the islands, for best results try sand worm. Surf beaches for Salmon and Tailor on pilchard and popper.
Bemm River: The Entrance is still open. The lake has Bream taking hard body lures and sand worm. Luderick are in the river and the channel with sand worm as bait of choice.
Tamboon Inlet: Bream are in the river up to Furnell jetty as well as being in the lake. Best results using prawn and worm.
Mallacoota: Surf beaches have Salmon and Tailor biting on pilchard and popper. Main wharf for Trevally. The top lake for Bream and Flathead. Best results using prawn.
Omeo High Country: CLOSED SEASON.
