Lakes Entrance: The footbridge and Myer St Jetty are best for whiting on small pieces of pilchard and worm. The rock wall and Kalimna Jetty area are the best spots to try for luderick on weed. Off shore at Six Mile Reef for pinkies on pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers: The power lines for tailor around the 70cm mark, best results using lures. There are the odd bream about taking prawn and vibes. The surf beach for salmon on poppers and pilchard.
Mitchell River: Best spots for bream are the backwaters, the cut and Jones Bay. Best results using spider crab and prawn.
Tambo River: Best spots for bream are the snags at the river mouth and up around the boat ramp. Best results using vibes, worm and prawn.
Nicholson: Again the beast spots for bream are the strait six and down to the river mouth. Best bait worm, prawn, vibes and soft plastics.
Metung: Box’s Creek and Chinaman’s Creek for bream, mullet and perch. The Boardwalk and up to the Marina is worth a look. The town jetties are also worth a try. Best bait being vibes, prawn and worm.
Paynesville: Try fishing closer to the structures around the town jetties for bream. Best bait being worm and prawn. For salmon the surf beach at Ocean Grange using pilchard and poppers.
Hollands Landing: Plover Point and through the strait towards Blonde Bay for bream and mullet on peeled prawn and worm. Try the rock groynes as well.
Marlo: Lake Corringle and around the islands are best spots for bream and perch taking prawn and vibes. The surf for salmon and off shore for a mixed bag.
Bemm River: The river mouth and into Sydenham Inlet for bream. Some tailor are cruising the lake. The surf for salmon on pilchards and poppers.
Tamboon Inlet: From Furnell Landing and into the lake for bream taking worm and prawn. Surf beach for salmon on pilchards and poppers.
Mallacoota: The Wallagaraugh River for bream. Gipsy Point wharf for tailor on pippies. Top Lake has bream and flathead. Bottom Lake for bream on yabbies. Tip Beach for salmon on pilchards and poppers.
Omeo High Country: CLOSED SEASON.
