Lakes Entrance: All surf beaches are good for salmon on pilchard, poppers and lures. The highway bridge toward evening for bream on drifting prawn. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for leatherjacket, pinkies, blue eyed trevally, pink ling, morwong, nanagai and snapper. Best results using pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers: Once again Cameron’s Arm to Nowa Nowa for bream taking prawn. Devil’s Hole for bream and tailor. Best results on lures and prawn. Try Long Point and Toorloo Arm as well. Surf for salmon taking metal slug and pilchard.
Mitchell River: Spider crab and soft plastics are best for bream from the Bluff to Shadoof Lodge. Wy Yung bridge to the river mouth for mullet and tailor taking lures and worm.
Tambo River: Around the highway bridge for bream, best results using worm.
Nicholson: Around the reeds and up to the strait six is best for bream, preferred bait being worm.
Metung: The boardwalk for bream and the Nungurner Jetty for whiting. Best bait being smoked mussels.
Paynesville: Lake King for salmon and tailor trolling with lures for best results. Mullet are in the strait. Carstairs Bank and Bunga Arm are worth a look for bream and flathead.
Hollands Landing: Bream are at the western end of the public jetty near the caravan park and the deep water jetty on prawn. Evening is best for tailor on lures. Give Mc Lennan Strait a try as well.
Marlo: Bream are in the rivers on prawn, and around the islands and Lake Corringle. The rock groynes for luderick. Surf for salmon. Off shore for a mixed bag.
Bemm River: Nice bream is to be found in the Lake, best results using soft plastics, vibes and local prawn. The surf for salmon on metal lures.
Tamboon Inlet: River mouth to Furnell Landing for bream on worm. Pinkies and trevally at the football ground on blue bait. The surf for salmon.
Mallacoota: Fisheries Jetty for tailor, trevally and luderick on weed and pilchard. Top lake for bream and flathead on yabbies and prawn. Gipsy Point for tailor on prawn.
Omeo High Country: Fish are about in all the rivers but best results are in the Mitta Mitta, Try all baits and lures.
