Lakes Entrance: Bullock Island for leatherjackets on prawn. The rock wall to Kalimna Jetty is worth a try for salmon and tailor taking lures. The surf for salmon. Offshore for blue eyed trevally and pink ling taking pilchard and squid. Further out for swordfish.
Lake Tyers: From Camerons Arm to Devils Hole for bream with prawn and hard bodied lures for best results. Long Point and Mill Point have pinkies and tailor on prawn. The surf beach for good size salmon.
Mitchell River: Bream are about Grassy Banks and Eagle Point on spider crab and soft plastics. Mullet and tailor are from the river mouth up to the Wyung Bridge on worm and silver metal lures.
Tambo River: At the river mouth for good size bream. Marshalls Flat and the Three Gums is also worth a try. Best results using worm.
Nicholson: The Swimming Hole and Pear Tree for bream on local prawn. The two bridges and up to the cliffs are also worth a try for bream.
Metung: From Chinaman’s Creek to Nungurner Jetty for flathead and bream, best results using prawn as preferred bait.
Paynesville: Fishing is a bit quiet at the moment, but in the channel there is whiting taking shrimp.
Hollands Landing: Seacombe Landing, The Woodpile, Hollands Landing and Medusa Point for bream and flathead. Also Bull Bay and up Tom’s Creek is worth a try with best results using prawn and white bait.
Marlo: The rivers are producing bream taking prawn. The Rock Groynes are best for luderick. The surf beach for salmon, tailor and flathead on pilchards and poppers. Offshore for a mixed bag.
Bemm River: The surf beach has salmon chasing metal lures. Bream are in the lake taking soft plastics and blades.
Tamboon Inlet: Bream are to be found at the river mouth and up to Furnell Landing, best results using worm and prawn. Pinkies and trevally are at the football ground on pilchard. The surf for salmon on blue bait and pilchard.
Mallacoota: The beach for salmon on pilchard and poppers. The Top Lake is best for bream and try the two rivers as well, with prawn and yabbies for bait. The Main Wharf and the Fisheries for trevally, snapper and tailor. The best baits are pilchard and blue bait
Omeo High Country: The Livingstone River is best for trout. Try worm, soft plastics and spinners for best results.
