Lakes Entrance: Eastern Beach for Salmon taking pilchard and popper. It is also worth trying lures. Bullock Island on incoming tide for Salmon and Tailor using lures for best result. Town jetties have Mullet taking worm. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for “Pinkies”. Closer towards the beach for Flathead and “Gummies” on pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers: Bream are up past the island and towards Nowa Nowa. Tailor are about in deeper water. Nowa Nowa for Garfish on worm. On the turn of the tide for Salmon using pilchard and poppers. It is also worth giving lures a go.
Mitchell River: The backwater has Garfish biting on worm. Best spots for Bream are at Grassy Banks and The Cut and Two Bells. Bait of choice is spider crab and prawn.
Tambo River: The boat ramp, Marshall Flats and rough road are best spots for Bream. Plenty of smaller fish are about but try deeper water with soft plastic crabs.
Nicholson: Early morning towards the river mouth using spider crab and prawn for Bream.
Metung: The boardwalk, Shaving Point, Lake King jetty and towards Tambo Bay for Flathead and Flounder. Using prawn will provide the best results.
Paynesville: Good size Bream around 3lb are in the Strait and around town jetties. Bread is giving the best results.
Hollands Landing: Bream at the western end of the caravan park and deep water jetty taking worm. Getting on towards evening for Tailor around the jetties using small silver lures for best results.
Marlo: The surf for Salmon and Tailor on pilchard, popper and metal lures. Offshore for Kingfish, “Pinkies”, “Gummies” and Flathead. The river for Bream on frozen prawn and soft plastic grubs.
Bemm River: Bream are in the lake taking local prawn and soft plastics. The channel is best for Tailor chasing metal lures. Surf has been rough because of the wind.
Tamboon Inlet: Bream are out and about in the river mouth. Best results are worm and prawn. Egans Bank on the left-hand side have Trevally and Flathead taking pilchard and prawn. Surf for Salmon taking pilchard and poppers.
Mallacoota: Surf for Salmon biting on pilchard and poppers. Bottom Lake for Bream and Flathead using yabbies and lures. Top Lake has Bream on yabbies and prawn. Fisheries wharf for Tailor and Garfish.
Omeo High Country: Some rain has fallen. It has freshened up all rivers in the area, as a result fishing has improved using worm and hoppers as best bait.
