Lakes Entrance Fishing Report

Lakes Entrance: Myer Street footbridge for trevally taking pilchards, try the other town jetties as well. The Barrier and the islands for whiting on worm and pippies. Off shore for pinkies, gummies and flathead on pilchards and squid.

Lake Tyers: Flathead have moved down into the main lake. Best results using soft plastics. Devil’s Hole is best for bream, they are on the move throughout the lake system taking worm and prawn.

Mitchell River: Bass in the backwaters on diving lures. The Mitchell River mouth for bream, best bait prawn, shrimp and soft plastics. Grassy Banks to Shadoof Lodge is worth a try.

Tambo River: Best spots for bream are from the boat ramp and down to the river mouth using live shrimp and worm.

Nicholson: The Cliff’s, Car Bodies and down to the swimming hole are the spots to try for bream on live shrimp, crab and prawn.

Metung: Boaties try Bancroft Bay for bream, trevally and tailor. Best baits being lures, shrimp, peeled prawn and worm. Town jetties and the boardwalk are worth a look.

Paynesville: Eagle Point Bay for tailor chasing lures. Flathead at Newlands Arm off the beach on soft plastics. Prawns are about. Gummies are at Ocean Grange on pilchards and squid.

Hollands Landing: Mc Lennan Strait, Seacombe Landing and the Wood Pile for flathead, mullet and bream. Soft plastic and worm as bait of choice.

Marlo: Bream are a bit quiet at the moment in the rivers. Prawns are on the sand flats. Surf beach for salmon, tailor and gummies on pilchard and squid. Off shore for king fish, pinkies and gummies.

Bemm River: The surf for salmon on pilchard, blue bait and poppers. Flathead, tailor and trevally are in the channel taking soft plastics. Bream are in the lake taking plastics and hard body lures.

Tamboon Inlet: Bream are at the river mouth on sand worm and fresh prawn. Pelican Point for flathead on blue bait, white bait and soft plastics. Surf for salmon on fresh pilchards.

Mallacoota: Salmon on the surf taking pilchards and poppers. The lakes are producing good size bream and flathead on yabbies and lures. The Main Wharf for luderick on weed. Fisheries Jetty has trevally on blue bait.

Omeo High Country: Still no rain and all the rivers are quiet. Hoppers and flys for best results.
