Lakes Entrance: King George Whiting are still around the Barrier and the islands biting on pipi and worm. Myer Street jetty for Trevally and Flathead, preferred bait being pilchard. Salmon at Eastern Beach on blue bait and lures. Offshore Six Mile Reef is producing “Pinkies” Flathead with “Gummies” closer to shore biting on pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers: Devil’s Hole for good sized Bream taking prawn and worm. Flathead are cruising around Long Point chasing lures for best results.
Mitchell River: The butter factory for Garfish taking worm. Bream are around Eagle Point, “the cut” and sand flats closer to the mouth of the river. Best results on spider crab, soft plastic crab and worm.
Tambo River: Best spot for Bream being the boat ramp and along the Rough Road. Best results using local prawn.
Nicholson: Floating prawn at the river mouth for Bream. Also worth a try at the 2nd fence, swimming hole and pear tree using local prawn.
Metung: Try town jetties and weed beds for Bream, Mullet, Trevally and Flathead. Nungurner jetty for King George Whiting on pipi and worm. Try Bancroft Bay trolling with lures for Salmon, Tailor and Trevally.
Paynesville: McMillan’s Strait and structures are providing hiding places for Tailor. Some big Bream are about. Best results on prawn, soft plastics and hard body lures.
Hollands Landing: Blonde Bay and towards Storm Point for Bream taking worm as preferred bait. The Strait is also worth a try. Seacombe Landing down to Bull Bay and Reed Point are worth a look.
Marlo: Prawns are a plenty in the shallows. At surf beach for Salmon taking pilchard and popper. Bream are also about the system taking prawn, soft plastics and pipi.
Bemm River: The lake is producing Bream with worm, soft plastics and prawn as preferred bait. Trolling with lures will produce Tailor. Surf for Salmon on pilchard and popper. Entrance is still open.
Tamboon Inlet: Peter Rock producing good sized “Pinkies” and Trevally. Best bait being pilchard. Pelican Point for Flathead taking prawn and lures. Bream are up around the river mouth taking prawn.
Mallacoota: Flathead in Bottom Lake chasing lures. Top Lake have Bream and Flathead taking prawn. Harrison Channel for Luderick. Surf for Salmon.
Omeo High Country: Best results for Trout are in the Mitta Mitta, Anglers Rest, Cobunga and Gibbo Rivers on soft plastics and worm. Give metal lures a try.
