Lakes Entrance: The town hot spots for mullet are the Ferryman’s Jetty and any of the other town jetties, taking pippies and worm. Nunjurner Jetty for whiting on pippies. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for a mixed bag on pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers: Flathead taking soft plastic lures in the afternoon up at Nowa Nowa. From Camersons Arm to Devils Hole is producing blue lipped bream, best results using prawn and crab. The surf for salmon on pilchard and poppers.
Mitchell River: The Backwaters and down to Shadoof Lodge are the best spots for bream, using prawn, worm and spider crab.
Tambo River: The river mouth, Punthouse Point and up to the Blue Hole and The Cliffs are good spots for bream on plastics, worm and prawn.
Nicholson: Thumb Point, Pear Tree and between the Two Bodies and up to the Poplars for bream. Try prawn, soft plastics and worm.
Metung: Dolphins are cruising about and as a result most fish are looking for structures and jetties. Town jetties are good spots to try as well as the Boardwalk and Chinaman’s Creek.
Paynesville: The town jetties and the strait are the best spots for bream taking prawn and worm. Also try the back side of Raymond Island for whiting on worm and pippies.
Hollands Landing: Secombe Landing, The Woodpile, Tom’s Creek, Bull Bay and up to Storm Point for bream and mullet taking worm, prawn and cut pilchard.
Marlo: Around the Second Island on the incoming tide is producing bream with the bait of choice being worm. The surf for salmon on pilchard and poppers. Offshore for a mixed bag.
Bemm River: Try the lake for bream and luderick, taking worm. The surf for salmon on pilchard and poppers. The entrance is still open.
Tamboon Inlet: Bream are still in the river taking peeled prawn and worm. Pinkies are in the south west bay on pilchard and prawn. The surf for salmon.
Mallacoota: The two rivers up in the Top Lakes are best for bream, flathead and tailor. Best baits are blue bait, yabbies and prawn. The surf beaches for salmon on pilchard and poppers.
Omeo High Country: CLOSED SEASON.
