Lakes Entrance: The Post Office Jetty for trevally on pilchard. The Barrier Landing and Fraser Island for whiting. Mackerel at Bullock Island taking prawn. Offshore at The Pipeline for snapper and flathead. Gummies are closer to shore.
Lake Tyers: Bream are about the islands and Blackfellows Arm on live prawn. Flathead are cruising around The Glasshouse taking all baits.
Mitchell River: Garfish are to be found at The Butter Factory and Eagle Point, taking sand worm. Bream at The Cut and down to the river mouth with spider crab and worm as preferred bait.
Tambo River: Bream around the boat ramp and down to the river mouth with prawn as best bait.
Nicholson: Between the two bridges and down to the river mouth for bream with floating or drifting prawn.
Metung: Plenty of whiting being caught around the Nungurner area on pips. Bream are about taking prawn. Plenty of prawns being caught.
Paynesville: The town jetties are still producing bream on fresh prawn. Whiting are moving about taking pipis. The odd kingfish are cruising and taking lures.
Hollands Landing: The Woodpile and Hollands Landing have nice bream with prawn as preferred bait.
Marlo: Bream are about, but you have to be on the move. Tailor at the entrance. Flathead are in the shallow sand flats taking lures. The surf for salmon and tailor. Offshore for flathead and gummies.
Bemm River: Bream on local prawn and soft plastics. Trolling for tailor on lures. The surf for salmon and tailor with pilchard, poppers and metal lures.
Tamboon Inlet: Flathead at Pelican Point with pilchard. Bream at the river mouth taking prawn. Best time late afternoon. Garfish around the island taking worm. There are plenty of prawns about.
Mallacoota: The Bottom Lake for flathead taking lures. Luderick on weed in Harrisons Channel. The Top Lake is best for bream taking yabbies and lures. The surf for salmon on pilchard and poppers.
Omeo High Country: The Mitta Mitta and Anglers Rest for trout with soft plastics, grasshoppers and fly patterns.
