Lakes Entrance: Myer Street floating jetty is best for Trevally biting on pilchard and blue bait. Kalimna jetty for crabs. Surf beach for Salmon. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for “Pinkies” and Gummy Shark can be found closer to the shore. Best baits are pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers: Best spots for Bream are from the island to Nowa Nowa and Long Point. Best bait being prawn. Try surf for Salmon.
Mitchell River: Bream and Perch are the highway bridge taking prawn and lures. The “cut” also has Bream and Mullet taking spider crab, worm and prawn. Picnic Point for trout taking worm and lures.
Tambo River: The cliffs to Whelan’s and towards Rough Road are best spots for Bream taking worm as preferred bait.
Nicholson: From the highway bridge, the cliffs, Strait Six and up to the junction for Bream taking worm and prawn as preferred bait.
Metung: The cliffs at Metung for Bream biting on worm. The boardwalk has Mullet also taking worm. Chinaman’s Creek is worth a try.
Paynesville: Bream are hiding under town jetties in the late afternoon taking prawn and worm. Offshore and closer to the beach at Ocean Grange for “Gummies” taking pilchard and squid.
Hollands Landing: Seacombe Landing, the wood pile and Tom’s Creek are best for Bream and Mullet. Preferred bait being prawn and worm.
Marlo: The Snowy River has some Bream and the “odd” Perch is about. Try the Brodribb as well. Surf for Salmon. Offshore for “Pinkies” and Flathead. “Gummies” are closer to shore.
Bemm River: Bream and Luderick are up in the river biting on worm and prawn. Surf for Salmon.
Tamboon Inlet: Bream are in the river taking worm and prawn. Sowest Bay have Trevally taking pilchard. Surf for Salmon on lures and pilchard.
Mallacoota: Best spot for Bream is in the Top Lake using yabbies and prawn. Main wharf for Luderick on weed. Surf for Salmon.
Omeo High Country: Best spot for Trout is in the Mitta Mitta biting on worm, lures and soft plastics in the late afternoon.
