Lake Tyers Beach
Seclusion, tranquility, golden sand and surfLake Tyers Beach extends from Lake Bunga or Red Bluff down to past the Lake Tyers Waterwheel Tavern.
This beach is the jewel in the crown for East Gippsland. However, it is a challenging beach at times. Excellent for surfing and body boarding due to the off-shore reef building up the swell.
This beach has no life saving patrols, and is a dangerous beach, so be aware.
The Lake is a different story. Sheltered by sand dunes, the Lake is ideal for kids and adults alike. It's shallow warm waters give hours of joy for the kids. Canooeing, snorkling, fishing and play.
Lake Tyers Beach is found by driving 5km north out of Lakes Entrance on the Princes Hwy. Large signs direct you to turn right into Lake Tyers Beach. This can be a tricky intersection, so take care and watch for oncoming traffic.
After turning right, follow the main road and you will come to a sign for Red Bluff. This beach is definitely worth seeing, however it's predominantly suited to surfing. Continue on to the end of the main road and you arrive at the car park and Lake Tyers Waterwheel Tavern. Lake and beach access from here.
