Seafarers Festival - 3, 4, 5 December 2010

The Seafarers multicultural festival is in it's second year and we envisage it will grow each year to include a dynamic program of cultural and entertaining possibilities, all relevant to the Lake Entrance and East Gippsland Region.

As the patron saint of Seafarers and Travllers, the name of St. Nicholas is recognised by communities worldwide and in particular, is synonymous with the Fishing Industry. Since Tourism and Commercial Fishing are the main industries of Lakes Entrance, using the St Nicholas theme for the Festival sits extremely well with Lakes Entrance.

The festival of Saint Nicholas will provide an opportunity for all community groups and local businesses to become involved. The Festival will promote the region and assist in attracting people to our town.

What a successful Art Show for 2010 in Lakes Entrance. Almost $10,000 worth of paintings sold for local arists. A record number of visitors to the show through the doors.



On display in Myer Street were some of Australia's most spectacular Hot Rods. They had a universal appeal, appreciated by all ages, regardless of whether you are a car enthusiast or not. Its just hard not to be impressed by these machines and the many hours the owners put into building them.



Buchan, as always, put on a fantastic Rodeo over the Easter weekend. Huge crowds attended, making this year one of the best ever. See below some images from the Rodeo, caught on camera by our freelance photographer, Shane Kidd.
